Milestones   08.05.2006                     Certificate of Registration (C.S.C.I.) received

06.05.08              This is a milestone for D & R as their lives apart from the parents start today.R moved in to share with D.

20.03.08             Today D and R and Malcom and Jackie and Shaun Interviewed applicants for the 4 support workers posts. D & R chose who they preferred and the people were duly appointed.

December 2007           From the discusssion with D.T.'s Father Shaun contacted D's friends family and subsequently planning commenced for D & R to share D's house.

December 2007            Shaun is asked to contact a parent of a young man who was the youngest person on his case load when he was a             Community Nurse at Waterfoot Health Centre 25 + years ago.

20.11.07                       Following a referral from Social Services and planning, we start to support John and Alison each morning Mon-Fri.

23.10.07                      We heard today that our request to use our Lottery underspend to fund a 4th year has been approved.

16.10.07                      This evening Shaun and Kath Mckinstry facilitated a P.A.T.H with Emma and Zowie.

11.09.07                      Today we had an " Unannounced Inspection " by our C.S.C.I. inspector. The result of this was : A GOOD report.

25.05.07                      Today we receive confirmation that our request to use our underspend to fund a 4th year has been approved !!

11.05.07                      Colin and Shaun attend a meeting at the Big Lottery to ask for an extension to the currently agreed funding. If agreed                                      this would extend the project into a 4th year without having to ask for extra monies. This 4th year will be as a result of                                        careful spending by VSL. The meeting with the fund manager went well and we await her decision.

30.04.07                      K & E  moved into their apartment in Rawtenstall. They receive support from Eileen and Mary of 32 hours per week.

05.02.07                     VALLEY SUPPORTED LIVING ARE NOW ON THE PREFERRED PROVIDER LIST FOR  LANCASHIRE SOCIAL SERVICES....

09.12.06                      Members of V.S.L.   take part in Rawtenstalls Christmas Market day to raise awareness of the charity.

22.09.06                      Shaun collects his N.V.Q. 4 ( Registered Managers ) Certificate from Manchester City College.      

18.09.06                      Jason S.   moves into his own home and has support from Brian for 14 hours a week.             

03.08.06                      Colin and Shaun commence the Annual Report to be sent to The Big Lottery    

28.7.06                         V.S.L members evening out at Bentley Wood, enjoyed by all       

18.07.06                        Shaun has a third meeting with Kathryn Parr from the Contracts Department of Social Services. Progress is being                                            made towards attaining Preferred Provider status.

12.07.06                        Shaun & Kath McKinstry helped to facilitate a  M.A.P. with K.  In attendance are 10 of K's family and friends who                                               contributed to an enormously enjoyable P.C.P.

04.07.2006                    Colin and Shaun attend the leavers evening at Tor View school. A number of people express interest and state               they intend coming to the A.G.M. on the 11th July.

02.05.2006                    At this evenings monthly meeting 3 people were identified to have their plans commenced over the next few weeks.

01.05.2006                   Pam Highley commences her emploment as a replacement for Dorothy who is retiring for health reasons.

18.04.2006                    Shaun and Ann have individual meetings with the C.S.C.I inspectors to assess their suitability at becoming

                                      Registered Manager and Responsible Person.

07.04.2006                    Kathryn  Parr comes to review our progress on becoming a ' Preferred Provider '
